Rental terms (draft for lawyer review)

1. Lanombre Rent introduces neighbors. The owner rents the equipment directly to the renter; we are not a party to the rental and do not sell insurance.
2. The renter carries insurance that covers the equipment and names the owner, and uploads proof with the request.
3. Rentals are equipment only. No operator is provided. Where a listing says a certified operator is needed, the renter confirms they or their operator hold that certification.
4. Payment is taken by Stripe when the owner accepts. Our fee is part of the rent and is shown to the owner.
5. A damage deposit, where the listing has one, is held on the renter card at pickup. If the card cannot be held for the whole rental, the deposit is charged and refunded after return instead.
6. Rentals are at most 28 days.
7. Cancel 48 hours or more before pickup for a full refund. Later than that, half the rent is refunded. If the owner cancels, the renter gets everything back.
8. Owners may file a damage claim with pictures within 48 hours of the return. An admin decides it and may keep part or all of the deposit for the owner.
9. Use, transport and return the equipment safely and lawfully. Trailers must be towed by a vehicle rated for them.
